At Wurtsboro In Sullivan County, this unimproved trail is part of a 45-acre linear park along the D&H Canal and can be rough biking (fat-tire bike recommended, we found the trail more suited to hiking). The park has remnants of the locks, and includes fishing, picnicking, horseback riding, and cross county skiing. Other sections of the towpath have also been developed for recreational use, including a 1-mile segment at the Delaware & Hudson Canal Park in Cuddebackville, Orange County, NY.
